Three months from a Reddit post to three states
Three months ago I put up a post in an Aussie fishing group about the routine every session starts with. Thursday night, the group chat lights up. Where are we going Saturday. Then the 20 minutes: BOM, Seabreeze, Willy Weather, the tide chart, a solunar table.
Four tabs and a gut feel, every single time. I didn’t want more data. I wanted an answer.
So I built one. It started in Victoria, Port Phillip and Western Port, one bloke, no team, no investors, no ads.
Here’s the proud bit. In three months it’s gone further than I thought it would: more than 150 spots, 12 regions, now three states with New South Wales live, and a Play Store listing. There’s a founding crew already on board.
How it works is simple. You pick a spot. It reads the conditions that actually matter for what’s biting there, tide, wind, solunar, pressure, water temp and local spot context, and shows them as clear readings with two coloured bands: one for how well the conditions suit the fish, one for how easy the spot should be to fish. The bands are honest about the bad days. That’s by design, not a sales pitch.
It’s free to use. There’s a Pro tier if you want the full spread; see the current price on the Nibble landing page. Founder subscribers keep their protected rate.
On Android you sign in through the web rather than buying in the app, then it runs like normal. On iPhone you add it to your home screen.
Have a crack and tell me where it’s wrong. That’s the only way it gets better.
